My rims are 4.2 or is it 2.4 and I have difficulty. It's not a girl thing either cos I've asked on here before. The word tubeless was mentioned. 🙄

Correct technique will help a lot, never had any real problems with those rims. Removal, break the bead on both sides all the way around, push the tyre into the rim's well opposite the valve, and work it in both directions towards the valve where you'll have then created enough slack to lift the tyre over the rim. Refitting, start opposite the valve, pushing the bead into the well, and work both sides towards the valve, if you start at the valve then it'll limit the amount of slack available when you get to the final bit.

Coatesy speaks the truth.

Are your tyres MAxxis? I have found MAxxis with DT Swiss rims are a real pain to get on and off.

I found my 5.1's a complete mare before being told about the correct technique 😳

However i still can't get my michilin tyres on or off without some dh levers and because of this they are now hanging in my shed. Maxxis are a bit easier and i havn't broken any tyre levers fitting or removing them and feel much more confident i could actually fix a puncture out on the trail now where before with the michilins i spent half an hour by the trail removing the tube and fitting a new one for the tyre lever to nick the new tube and put a hole in that too.

Probably the hardest tyres I found were Bonty Mud X. I do worry that if anything happens on the trail, how will I manage but you just have to particularly as I'm mostly on my own.

Mavic rims seem to be easier.
