So I'm finally looking at putting a dropper post on my specialized pitch but don't completely understand how to tell what length I need. It's a 30.9 diam and I've measured what I can from my current seatpost. It's a medium frame and has a bend in the seat tube that I'm worried about restricting my options.
As far as I can tell, the furthest a seatpost can go down into my frame is 220mm from the frame collar to the point where the post stops.
When the post is in climbing position, the saddle rails to the frame collar measures 235mm.
The other measurement I've found is that from the centre of my bb to the top of my saddle is 730mm.
Cheers for any advice
there is a table somewhere but you are looking at Drop (the post height change 100/125/150mm) the amount of insertion and the amount the hardware takes up (seat clamp and bits that need to be outside) basically all the outside stuff plus the drop needs to be less than 220mm, probably makes most easy, next is how far you like to drop it.
Ah ok, in the sense I do like to get it out of the way for jump lines etc so the most drop I can get hold of there would probably be best. Thanks
