[#698906]

ive just been looking for some new hubs on ebay to build into a set of wheels for my cx and ive been looking for 10speed shimano ones but it just occurred to me my current set up is and old xt non disc hub with a 10speed road cassette on it and it all runs sound

im just wondering what the differences in hub/freehub sizes are if any between shimano 8, 9 speed mtb hubs and 8,9,10 speed road hubs

im just looking to find out what sized road and mtb ones i can look out for that fit 10 speed

cheers

You can do that yes but have you considered a road hub is 130mm and an MTB one is 135mm? If you are currently running an XT rear hub then your frame would be too wide for a road hub to fit straight in.
