I'm going to be setting up my new frame with a SLX Double chainset, I know which front mech I need but I'm confused regarding the rear mech.
I thought I should get a medium cage one but now I'm not sure.
What rear mech should I use with that set up?
Sorry if it's been asked before but I checked on the search function and nothing came up.
Medium cage would be perfect for a double.
No need for long cage as not as much chain/movement needed.

medium cage works fine.
I run a medium rear mech with my dual ring/bash SLX set-up (26/34 up front and 11-34 cassette). It largely depends on what chainrings and cassette you are planning on running. Have a look on the Shimano website and it will tell you the gear ranges that the mechs are capable of accommodating.
mikey i'll be running same as you have stated so i'll go with medium like i thought.
