I have been ask to bleed an Avid Elixir 5 brake to night; the bike is needed tomorrow, the Avid website says Dot 5.1 but I only have Dot 4, will it be ok if I flush out the old oil a few times?

They are compatible, DOT 4 is just a lower spec.
It's DOT 5 that is the non-compatible silicon stuff.

Yip DOT4 works fine did my elixir R's on Monday. No need for flushing
