Agreed. I once landed about 6ft off the trail doing one of the jumps at the top of Golspie. Gets a tad windy up there.

Tabletops at the top of Cwmcarn anyone? They are lethal in the wind!

The bridge drop at the end of Cwmcarn has claimed many a casualty on a windy day!

Have to say I was having fun on the road bike yesterday (not jumping, I hasten to add...)

The combination of bladed spokes and a 30mph+ cross wind up on the tops made for some uncomfortable wobbles at times.

Other blindingly obvious things not to do are,

pi$$ into the wind.

tug on Supermans cape.

New red at Laggan suffers from side winds. Nearly got caught out once. Today wouldn't be a good day up there, 80mph wind later. I'm just glad we only got torrential rain and "breezy" for the 10UTB. 80mph wind would not have been fun at all.

That's why there used to be a windsock on the top of Cwmcarn. Got blown to shreds though ๐Ÿ™‚

Jumping in crosswinds I learnt/ed that lesson about 20 year ago...

then did it again on a BMX track(with MTB) about 5 years later just to remind myself how stupid an idea it was - with serious bleeding consequences
