Anyone ridden both?

They look and weigh remarkably similar.

PX have no black in my size but black available from Dolan...

I prefer the look of the planet x from webpages. Planning to go see the Dolan tomorrow and the planet x on Friday after oon when in the area.

The SRAM options look good esp the force and rival options.

The frames are near identical in terms of weight.

Tempting with some of the sales on. But am sure there are more sales to come.

sweet - assume the extra 10% off plus the extra goodies make it not far off a £1100 bike in the end?

The 10% off this week did seem to make the decision making much easier for sure. Sure there may be x% more off at some point in the not too distant future but hey-ho. Won't impact the way the earth orbits the sun so not too big of an issue.

TBH I tried to figure out how Force compared to Ultegra - apparently v similar but a bit lighter (ok that may be for entire gruppo), checked out the price from the likes of CRC for the SL-K Light chainset (ouch!) and then looked at weight of the forged brakes. That said I upgraded to the CNC'd ones in pimpy red. Reminded me a bit of a br*th*l I may have stumbled into in error many years ago....

For a one-stop-shop biggest bang for the buck for a new bike in my rqeuired size with some changes to basic spec it seemed to tick all the boxes.

The AL30 wheels may not be top of the tree, but in terms of weight they are not too shabby. Yes I could shave a few grams by at some point replacing them with some Novatec Superlite hubs and Stans road rims, but not an immediate requirement.

it seems rival is more comparable to ultegra, so force is considered better?

pics of new steed required....!

i am going into planet x tomorrow 😀

Ps went to Dolan yesterday and they were VERY helpful. Sound guys and virtually did a full bike fit for me. A lot nearer as well.

Px do suddenly seem to be out of stock of many items.

Web update issue perhaps?

Mine is due for build next Friday so they appear pretty busy.

Yep, Dolan very helpful on the phone. Seem a decent bunch.

I have a Dolan mythos, it's brilliant. I bought it as my first carbon road bike coming from a litespeed ti and despite it being a fraction of the cost, it's brilliant. I really like it and enjoy riding it.

The Dolan sizing is a bit funny, I'm on a 52cm - I'm 6ft, but fit wise it's spot on. The staff there are really helpful and only too happy to help as much as they can. I'd definitely but another.

Site went spazzy. Sorry. Still not quite right, but better.

10% off until Sunday night.

Cheers brant.

Dolan recommended me a 56 frame. Planet x said a large for me. Very similar.
I am 6 ft 1 with 33 inseam. Dolan are closer and were very attentive. Planet x let me have a decent ride on a gran fondo in large.

Think I like the planet x on looks but the Dolan was great also.

Decisions decisions 🙂

I haven't ridden the Planet X, but my Dolan is a superb bike. Comfortable for long days riding but shoots forward when you put some power through the pedals.

Had it two years and still looks fantastic.

Based upon experience to date with Dolan and Planet X then either will provide a great bike.

The RT 57 got my vote as it was a little lighter, higher spec components and model up from my mates 😉

The Mythos with Ultegra also great but would have had to take one of the wheel upgrades which pushed the price pretty close to the rt with the 10% off.

I would not dismiss Ribble either.
