I'm thinking of buying a FS frame to use in the summer, swapping my components from the HT over to it, then back in time for winter again. Does anyone do this? Strikes me as a neat way to service the bits at the same time and keep each frame fit for purpose.

It's not unusual to move bits from one bike to another.

Ime the plan always starts out that way, but you end up with 2 bike in the end.

Yup all the time. My most recent three bikes were bought with interchangeability as a priority. Spent a useful hour or so on Friday swapping forks and wheels and brakes so my #2 bike can hibernate and my #3 bike is now not too shabby at all
