A guy I ride with occasionally does, on all his bikes, mostly cause he started off in bmx. It does give you better cable routing as well I think.

I ride rear brake right hand on bmx, but ride british style on all other bikes.

Yes - switched for better cable routing, can't really see any disadvantages.

Front brake in Sweden is on the left side (in the whole of Europe I suspect!).

In hairy situations my brain goes back to the child state and I struggle to know which brake is for which. Really annoying. I think I'll switch them over, cant stand having to bleed the brakes again though!

Yeah both mountain bikes but commuter is normal. No real reason behind it though...

Non Britsh cyclists mostly - as I found out when I hired a mountain bike on Mallorca, for a guided ride.
The ride started with a climb for about 2 miles, which meant that I didn't have to brake until I was on a fast downhill singletrack section - that almost ended nastily!

I brake when turning left I think signalling when turning against the traffic is more important. And of course you have a brake on a fixie on the road

Yep. Had them like that for over 30 years. Came from riding continental road bikes in my youth.

Been running brakes that way since i got into mountain biking was easier to route the cables and also makes lending your bike out fun.
