Can you tell me which one and what they ride like โ“

I'm thinking about getting rid of my cracked commy frame since I'm doing more and more off road riding.

It's been great to go to the shops and for riding dirt tracks etc, but trusting it not to snap when I do some more extreme riding is not really for me.

I do, I have got a Mk3 2006, but no of the stuff on it is original as I only bought the frame. I have had it for just over a year but it has served me very well, however I am changing over to an Ibis. This is solely just because it is a much better frame. I rally like the dw linkage and am able to get it up the hills fine, with very little bob and no lockout/pro-pedal.
What one are you looking at?

Hey, I like the look of the MK3 I also like some of the newer trek frames.

I'll simply have to do some research ๐Ÿ˜€

Yeh, it isnt the lightest of trail bikes (the 2006 model at least) but can take the hits. It will easily do 5 foot drops, i dont dare to go any further than that, I get scared not the bike, ha. But it is well worth having a look around. Do bare in mind aswell that IH components are a bit harder to source down now a days due to them going bust a year or so back.

I have a Sunday, but I am guessing you would not want to pedal that around a trail.

Handles great, very low bottom bracket which is good for handling but bad when you catch a pedal and it spits you off ๐Ÿ™‚

I've got a 08 MkIII that i am in the process of doing up. I rode it most of last summer with a mish mash of parts but still loved it for blasting round the local trails. It is my first full sus so don't have much to compare it with, but i don't notice pedal bob when seated and when i am out of the saddle for downhill sections the suspension feels alive.

In the process of building new wheels with a 10mm rear axel and putting a new rock shock revelation RLT tapered fork with 15mm axel in it with a nuke proof headset. Hopefull this will stiffen it all up a little as my mate who compared it to his Lap Spicy said it was a bit more flexy.
Some of that will have been due to a more xc rear wheel and fox forks in desperate need of some new bushes and a damn good service.

I serviced an 06 sunday about 3 weeks ago, every single bearing was so loose you could push them in and oujt with your fingers ๐Ÿ˜ฏ Took a good amount of work to get it up and running again.

However after working some of my magic the bike now rides perfect, the guy was well chuffed as he had just bought it and thought it was ****ed.
