I'm starting to think everyone does but me. The better the scenery etc. is, the less I want to stop. Do some people pack a camera every ride? Would you regret forgetting the camera..?

I always have the phone with me - so that counts as a camera.

Usually have a proper little camera with me too. You never know what you might come across!

I usually have a compact camera but some days, like today, I take a DLSR and a GoPro.

Almost every ride, I like sharing the pics and showing people where I've been. I also write a (probably extremely boring) blog post too, that started as just for me to keep a record of mileage, then started linking the pic with the ride details, then just started writing some words, more as a memory aid than anything else. Not sure if anyone reads it tbh 😳

I always take photos, but to be honest only take one or two if it is really cold! I am not the fastest rider, and taking pics of the scenery is one reason why I do ride, but if I am doing a top descent such as Whinlatter I probably wouldn't stop. Probably although I have been known to on occasions.

On group rides I always take pictures, weekends away and full day rides as the people I ride with get even more excited about riding again if you show or e:mail them images. Digital images cost nothing so you can take loads and just show folks the one were they look good 😉

yep, we always take photos, it's nice to stop and take in the scenery, it's one of the reasons we go. It's nice to have the memories captured too although we don't tend to take photos if it's just a quick blast around local trails, just the longer ones or if it's somewhere we haven't been before.

I always take my phone which has a passable camera.. with every intention of taking a few shots of the amazing sights that I inevitably encounter whilst out and about..

95% of the time I get home completely forgotten..

I take a camera everywhere inc rides. I have managed to do a complete ride and not use it tho. I sometimes feel I have taken all the pics possible in my area. I took my camera today and the shutter froze ! Shame as I could have taken some deep snow riding shots .

I usually take a few pics on most rides. But I rarely stop, I take them as I ride along.

If I'm going somewhere new or interesting or with mates, I'll usually take my point-and-shoot camera. If I'm just popping out from home for a couple of hours on my own, I don't bother, although I do always have my phone with me and have used that occasionally. I've taken my DSLR out a couple of times but it's flipping heavy so I won't be doing that again without a good reason.

All the time, while riding and while stopped.always a gas tank bag on the bike for the camera. Our countryside is too nice to just ride through looking at the ground in front 😮
Then theres all the wildlife, geology, old buildings etc...though alot of folk dont seem interested in that stuff, just the trail in front...
I make the odd film too...

I'd like to take more pictures but even when I remember my camera I don't like stopping bit silly really.

Quite often, but mostly when I'm riding solo. I run the video camera on most rides though and can pull stills from that. Just "downgraded" to a tiny wee Canon Ixus for easier bike use, it'll sit unnoticably on a camelbak strap unlike my big Lumix. I'm just a snapper though, not a photograpger

Only really on solo rides. I don't like holding up a group ride just to piss around with a camera for a bit!

I'm another who always takes a camera out on rides mainly to take pictures of the fantastic scenery I ride on or over. I have many friends who are now living abroad & they like to see pictures from 'home'. I also tend to take pictures of the other riders I ride with, usually riding something or somewhere interesting, the action shots tend to encourage other riders to join us. For me riding & taking pictures go together.

I love it, the combination of the two hobbies is very symbiotic.

I just got a special backpack for carrying a camera whilst MTBing - http://www.clikelite.com/shop/compact-sport/ - like a camelback with a compartment for a camera in the bottom half. Makes it quite quick to get the camera out, just have to take one strap off and swing the back under my arm, and zip, and the camera is right there.

Camera system of choice is a Panasonic Micro Four Thirds, GH1. Good compromise between size and weight and quality, plus the ability to change lenses. Current fave is a fisheye.

If I go solo, I'll really take my time and take lots of pics.

If I go with more people, I tend to take less as I imagine it is a bit annoying waiting for someone to mess about with cameras. However, it is worth making a fuss occasionally to get a good pic, and people like pics of themselves riding!

I don't tend to get a lot of pics of the middle of trails on the way down, I am having too much fun riding then.

If the weather is crappy, or the group is big, or I just don't feel like it, I won't bother with the camera.

Yep - nearly always take a decent compact in the short pocket - currently a olympus mju, waterproof and shock proof. Tend to take more photos when on my own through boredom. If I'm with slower mates, they don't mind me charging off as they know it's because I'm getting ahead to get a decent shot of them later on.

Not sure I could bring myself to carry a DSLR & gubins though.

Always have my GF1 with me. Sometimes I'm not in the mood for stopping though. As said the two hobbies go together very well.

I take my camera everywhere, and rarely take less that 500 shots on a ride 🙂

Never without it but I take pictures on the move - I can't usually be arsed setting up shots or riding sequences as it disrupts the riding too much. I admire the results of those that do though 😉

Shots of bikes on this site are generally as sad as IMO...

I usually put my Flip video camera in my camelbak or back pocket. It's so quick and hassle free to use i dont really waste any time using it and i can take loads of stills from a few seconds of video in minutes.
