I'm just not enjoying my riding as much as I used to.

There was a time when I'd be out rain or shine, whatever the temperature, alone or with mates. I'd make time and plan to have weekends away riding.

I just can't be arsed anymore.

I get out still but don't really enjoy it as much - just feels like a way of spending time.

This has been going on for about a year now.

Has anyone else gone through a lull like this - or is it time to start flogging some bikes?

Going through a bit of a lull myself on the mountain bike, partly as a result of a damaged shoulder (AC Separation) from last May which took ages to heal, and partly due to the poor weather (riding for a couple of hours and then spending ages cleaning the mud of a bike was getting boring).

On the flip side I have been road riding much more - can do it straight out of the front door and don't have to spends ages trying to get clay-type mud out of all the nooks and crannies - although that has been slightly curtailed recently due to a knee injury.

Take some time off MTB?
I overdid it a few years ago. Barely ridden the MTB this year. Been getting into road biking a lot more, + swimming and yoga.

I can recommend road biking for allowing you to ride a bike but doing it differently - riding with a club is best for getting fit and for making it social and fun rather than hard work. as above, less hassle, and cheaper - things don't wear out /break so much.

Or just go off and do something else for a while. Maybe keep your favourite bike so you can still ride and spend the income from the others on something else

Yes on my side i ride road more, but maybe have some time off, get another hobby.

I take time out now and again it's healthy.

As said above, take a break. There is no rule anywhere that says you have to ride. Even if you give it up for good to do something else, I don't see any need to beat yourself up about it. I quit rowing and then moved more into cycling.
Not sure if you'll be able to post here during the off period though. 😕
