can anyone tell me if hope floating rotors will fit my avid codes. are most rotors the same thickness
Can't speak for Codes but Hope floatings don't fit all brakes, and some they fit but only just- my Oro K24s frinstance fit by a hair but lose any sort of adjustability.
TBH the floating rotors are a bit of hype IMO, I regret falling for it, they're not especially light and I never saw any performance advantage.
Performance advantage? It's a bit of metal, marketers have got a lot to answer for. As for fitting other calipers I have found that mono 6 rotors didn't fit my mono 4 calipers. I ended up grinding about .5mm off the rotor outer to get it to fit. I found that very strange and would probably never have noticed but it was ISO mount and there was no adjustment available save ovalising the holes, which I didn't fancy.
I've used floating rotors with avid 3's if that helps?? (and shimano LX and magura louises) without any issues, though the 3's were a bit of a pita to setup right.
Personally I bought them as I like the colours - does that make me a bad person?!
Hope rotors have three brake track widths:
Mono Mini/X2/M4 are 13mm.
Mono/Moto M6 are 17mm.
Moto/Tech V2 are 20mm.
They're all roughly the same thickness at 1.85mm, apart from the completely-incompatible-with-anything-else vented V2 rotor, which is about 3mm.
The M6 rotor is the closest match to the Avid pad width.
