As I seem to have an abundance of timbers left, I'm going to have a go at building my own stand for post ride cleaning and general maintenance. Any tips or photos of yours for inspiration?
There was a video on YouTube, gmbn maybe?
Was hoping to do something a little less intrusive and mobile so it can be put away when not in use.
Just make something small like an Andy stand. It'll keep the bike upright and lift the rear wheel. That covers washing and a good chunk of maintenance.

Something like this?
For bike washing I made a rustic one from some old timber. Tyre slots for up to 3" and pebbles so the muck and water to drain away. It stacks down the fence when not in use.
Its stable enough to support an ebike
For bike settling I fitted a Park tool clamp to an old TV mounting bracket so that it folds flush with garage wall when not in use. Again it will take the weight of an ebike and is stable
😲😆👌
Don't see the point of the decking area in the video. Think the pebbles per Tracey are better for a soakaway. Ironing board- genius!
Ive tried stands of various types and find nothing works as well as leaning it against a wall
Pebbles are great until you drop something. Usually small, usually when it is going dark...
Pebbles would be a nightmare for the clay/sand combo in my riding venues. You'd just end up with a heap of muddy pebbles that wouldn't drain.
I was the bike off before I head home these days, leaving the hills in the hills.
If I did have a wash station, it would be some kind of raised platform with a soil box and soak away that I could shovel out every season.
I can't find a decent photo. But in Cyclocross it is really common to use an old set of dropped handle bars. Upside down with a bit of padding they are pretty sturdy for jet washing. No need to clamp and you can turn the bike round quickly if needed. Normally people clamp the handlbars in an old work stand but other have improvised with other things.
