There's a guy making custom guards. From carbon fibre.

I use one of these on my TB LTc.

Mainly to protect the linkage though.

You can make quite a good one from a A4 sheet of Pace carbon armour , have one on my bike cut to whatever size you fancy. Looks good and a bit thicker than heli tape

Looks really good lurchh,
Did you make some of the chaindevice yourself as well?
I made a chain device in Lexan a couple of years ago, its an ok material to work with..

Did you heat the polycarbonate to make the shape?

Thanks, the chaindevice is all homemade, just a polcarb backplate with ptfe guides. Yeah I just heated it with a heat gun and formed it over a cylinder the same size as the downtube. Can all be done with just a drill, hacksaw, files and heat gun so its worth trying

Sugru works well as tends to be slightly rubbery as well once set.

That Shelter tape is really thick - good stuff for dissipating impact energy. 1mm of such tape can more than double the impact resistance.

If you have bottle cage mounts then lurchhs protector is perfect. Polycarbonate, polypropylene or nylon would all be good options.

I made one from an old rear crud catcher

Sugru looks like a plan - I have no bottle mounts to screw to.
Ruscle, tell me a bit more - I see 8x5g = 40g for £13.25 could enable me to make a one off guard in black.
