Chain ring disc brake, i'm sure it works but if it goes wrong I'd hate to be riding the bike!!
That has to be right up there with one of the dumbest ideas ever.
All well and good until you need to lube your chain.... Or your chain snaps...
its not such a terrible idea, they do it on a lot of other chain driven vehicles like go karts and the such like.
What i don't like is the fact it's on the front chain ring, and there for uses the chain as a 3rd party braking system, all i can see is it making the chain jump off every 5mins and doubling chain wear. At least on karts etc the brake is on the rear sprocket directly attached to the wheels via drive shafts!
It just begs the question, why?
Nice piece of engineering, but a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
Fail
Too much bevvy too many tools and a lot of time. On the other hand it is very funny, so not a total waste.
portable numpty launch platform!!! safe landing not included!!!
mad as a hatter
never mind that - where can I get a blingy blue chain ???? He lost me on "fixed"...
gosh James, you really are a funny guy ๐
"You say your brakes are contaminated with chain lube?"
