Apologies in advance if I haven't grasped a basic concept here but...
Just bought a Thomson 70mm stem brand new and was going to fit it tonight. However, the alignment between the faceplate and the body of the stem doesn't seem 'right'. The face plate appears slightly wider creating a small 'overhang'.
Checked the picture on ukbikestore website and it seems the same i.e. designed that way. Is this correct - I have other (longer) Thomson stems and the join is perfectly aligned (no overhang). This is 31.8 as opposed to the others being normal sized.
Do I need to return it?
Thanks
no one?
Just checked mine. There's probably 0.5-1mm top and bottom. I never noticed before now, but can only assume that if the bolts line up then it'll be fine.
Thanks - seems from a bit of online searching, pictures of the shorter stems do show a raised lip. Just seems odd, and a little ugly, to me.
Cheers
But Thomson stuff is perfect!
Or so I thought...another illusion shattered!
