Hi all

Iv resently just acquired a PA frame which is claimed to be an 853 for a great price, now I'd like to get it re powder coated I just wanted to know if it is ok to shot blast the frame? Also how do you tell if a frame is 853

Correct me if I'm wrong but I though the only Albert that was 853 was the Classic that's just come out.

Presumably the original incarnation was also 853?

the gen 1 was 4130 and gen 2 was 520, (had both and now have a classic) not sure about the following CEN one, best to ask mike@dialled

In that case, it'd be fairly obvious if it was 853 from the big sticker on the seat tube.

The 853 sticker is on the downtube on the classic and others had seat tube stickers, but I had removed these on the earlier two (the 853 one is staying, people need to know 😉 )

Dialled did a limited run of 853 frames some years ago I think.

If it soaks up bumps like it has rear suspension then its an 853

It has a 853 sticker on the down tube and it's in a baby blue colour, davidtayforth could I send you a pic for your opinion you to Loco

Best to speak to Mike at Dialled, if it's got a sticker it's probably 853 😉

first 853 run was limited. recent PAC run was also 853. iirc

Sure I read that there had been a run of 853 PAs some time before.
What's it weigh? Might give a clue- Current PA classic is 4.9lb for 17inch as reference.
Frames obviously not identical- different dropouts for one thing.

Mine looks like davidtayforth's but in baby blue with the 853 sticker in the same place. Sweet must mean it is which is even better news considering I paid £65 for it, thanks for the help guys. Next does any one know if it's ok to shot last it ?
