Just been on red bull tv and the xc race is geo-restricted

All the listings I've seen show that RedBull have the UK rights in tandem with the BBC so we should be ok for having Warner and Claudio on the mics. If not PinkBike have the cheeky answer!

Says geo restricted on the app. FFS BBC. 👎🏻

Could be the basis of a good drinking game, take a swig every time BBC commentary mentions that it's muddy or that riders need to try to stay on their bike.

Will there be a link to the Redbull commentary for the men’s race anyone?
I watched the iplayer coverage with the Redbull commentary playing through my phone...thanks Frogstomp!

I had the bbc feed from iplayer and the Redbull commentary through my phone on a Bluetooth speaker next to the telly using Frogstomp’s link.
Occasionally had to pause one or the other to sync them but it worked well.
Hopefully do the same tomorrow; DH isn’t the same without Warner.

It worked fine for me on the Apple TV Red Bull app, in case that’s useful for anyone else.

Red bull worked fine for me via Xbox for the XC. I don't think the UK is a geo restricted country, or I hope not for the DH tomorrow.

Red Bull TV Android app and Samsung TV apps both definitely geo restricted.

I watched the men’s XC live on Chromecast via iPad (Red Bull app) no probs, will throw a bit of a tantrum if I have trouble with the DH tomorrow

The red bull app on our Samsung tv allowed me to watch replay of the xco and shows the dh as being available tomorrow. There was a choice of two streams one marked geo restricted the other not...

Loving the Vital "carnage" video, where it gets down into the woods and everything is surfaced in baby diarrhoea and the three metre wide track all essentially boils down to one tyre-wide rut and it all basically turns into every scottish enduro series race ever.

The bits up top are amazing for separating out the geniuses from the merely superb. 9/10 riders pretty much just riding it and doing a good job, then the 10th gaps it and lands right on top of a horrible stump and just carries on. Awesome stuff.

I just wish it still had the full breadth of field, ie, as well as the best in the world, also the Vanuatu national champ riding a decade old SX Trail, and everything inbetween so that at any given time there can be about 10 people on track because the slowest dudes need about 15 minutes longer than the fastest... Nothing better in this sport for showing how hard it really is.

Would be cool but it would be dangerous trying to overtake on a lot of the track. A pass going wrong on the motorway would be carnage.

The xc played on Redbull TV yesterday for me ( Android app on a tablet and Now TV box both worked straight away). There was a geo restricted thing on the event page but if you actually click on the live link it plays no problem so guessing the geo restricted thing doesn't apply in the uk

Logged into the RB on my phone and yep it shows geo-restricted.

However the RB app on the fire TV stick in the spare room makes no mention of geo-restriction, and I installed the app on the Samsung telly in the lounge and that also makes no mention of geo-restriction, both are just running a countdown to the event.

I'm assuming there's some difference between versions of the Red bull app for phones/tablets and TVs/media devices that means geo-restriction doesn't always work...

Edit: just checked my phone again and the geo-restriction note has gone. Not sure why but I won't question it...

We have racing! woohoo. Junior women seem to be really struggling, but a couple of times aren't far off their quali times.

It’s raining now at the mid station (track start) and some fresh snow at the top. Grim conditions.

Just seen that Vali Holl is out of the race today. Her insta stories show a pic of her ankle looking pretty swollen and UCI Twitter feed just confirmed it.

Surely you've got some device that can get Red Bull TV? Smart TV / Laptop / Tablet?
BBC commentary is often appalling, but I haven't heard who's doing it this time

Difficult to tell if conditions are worsening, of if the top seeds just aren't used to the conditions as British and Irish riders dominate the top 5

Hands up who has seen a rider catching up the rider in front,(while both are on the pace haha) in DH before lol.

Can't see this going to completion actually, imagine what it'll be like when the Men hit it later.

I'm feeling a lot better about my Red Bull Foxhunt swamp performance a couple of years back now. Wish they'd set the riders off at bigger intervals though, groups of riders clustered together is no fun to watch.

To be honest the start of the world champs always looks a bit like this. Countries get to enter riders you've never heard of that could never qualify for a world cup under normal conditions.

Obviously the mud is making it much worse than normal.

Think if the current world champion is tripoding and struggling to keep the bike moving in the steepest sections of the track because the mud is up past her hubs then you can say that the track designers got it badly wrong..

Nah mate, it’s October…

That's exactly my point.. they knew exactly when this race was going to be taking place and don't seem to have taken the expected conditions into account. For all the complaints about bike park courses that would have been the way to go for a race in the Alps in October.!
