Does any body know of a DH innertube that has a presta valve where you can remove the top of the valve to inject some tyre sealant, like you can with some schwalbe tubes?
It's actually for a surly pugsley which has 4" tyres but I was wanting to save on some rolling weight.
Obviously the tube will have to stretch more than the proper surly tube so a decent thickness of rubber would be helpful. Lots of people recommend the bontrager dh tubes but you can't inject sealant into those.
With tires this size you don't want thorn punctures because it's a lot of work with a hand pump, hence the sealant.
drill your rims to fit schraeder. makes loads more sense.
+1 to drill/schrader valves. Have a look at cynic-al's home rim drilling thread, you shouldn't worry about taking power tools to rims that size! And you then still have the option of going back to presta if you want.
