Following on from my earlier thread re deteriorating brake performance I will probably bite the bullet and buy a couple of sets of deores unless there's another relatively budget brakeset to consider?
I've seen various versions available and as you would expect earlier models are cheaper. Anyone Inthe know or should I just grab the latest model (6000?)and pay the little extra.
Thanks

Don't mean to hijack thread but I'm after new brakes also and I was wondering
Do you need to order left rear / right front or are the levers identical?
Where it says I-spec II compatible does that mean you have to use them with Shimano Shifters? or just can be used with?

The levers are different so you need one of each. It is possible to swap them if they come connected euro style, though

You can use any clamp on shifter (shimano or otherwise), or you can use an i spec shimano shifter

Last week deore 4 pots were £53 an end here

https://www.bikeinn.com/bike/shimano-mt501-post-mount-resin-hydraulic-disc-brake-rear/137407637/p

Now they say "* Due to the Shimano new regulations relating to distribution, we are not allowed to ship some products of this brand to United Kingdom"

Perhaps brexit beginning to be felt? I remember it was determined to be illegal for them not to restrict supply like this within the EU

The end of cheap bike parts from the EU?

Bah, I was going to order these exact brakes from there next week… just received their ‘come back to us’ voucher to use. Have them on the other bike, and they are brilliant.

Very happy with the standard m6000 from Merlin for 85quid, if you don't need mega power. They're fine on my hardtail. Got the 4 pot ones on my new bike and they are noticeably more powerful, as you'd expect!

Deore 4 pots are much better with Zee levers. Not sure why, but I’ve tried both with fresh bleeds and the Zee levers feel more powerful.

Weren't MT520s even a better value for those not sticking to labels?

I think that’s what most people are recommending.

Anyone know of a well priced UK source?
