Its coming round to Cycle to Work time again, I might actually ride the bike first this time!
I've got trips to Ambleside and Harrogate planned for the Autumn, before I confirm the dates I am looking for recommendations for demo days that might be on, or shops with demo bikes and great riding on the doorstep. Bikes I'd be interested in trying would be
Orange 5, ST4
Trek Fuel EX
Stumpjumper
LaPierre Zesty
Gary Fisher Roscoe

Bicycle Smithy in Stockport has a medium (17.5") Roscoe, on the edge of the Peak district

Dales Bike Centre I will definitely pay you a visit, I've often looked around me whilst sat on the A66, and wondered where all the good riding is. After some searching Biketreks looks worth a visit in Ambleside too.
nbt the Roscoe is one of the main ones I want to try but I would need to go bigger than 17.5" unfortunately.
SHandy, Jon who owns the shop rides a Roscoe himself, that's one of the reasons that persuaded me to order one myself. hope to pick it up next week 🙂
The Dalby shop/hire centre does LaPierre, some ex demo bikes too.

And Fulford Cycles would sort you an Orange test ride on your way to Dalby (on the A19, 5 minutes off the A64 York bypass). Doable from Harrogate. Pick up the Orange early, take it to Dalby, ride the Orange in the morning and the Lapierre in the afternoon.
biketreks in ambleside have orange and specialized demo bikes.
