So at today's race I thought I'd try some deep heat type stuff (Chamois Buttr Eurostyle Hot Embrocation Cream - 8oz Jar) on my calcs and quads as they were aching a bit.
Not joking it felt like someone had used a cheese grater on my skin it burns so much. Did a great job of distracting me from other pains.
However, it is still burning like a $#%€ nearly 12 hrs later. Just tried to wash it off, and it's got worse! How do you get this stuff to calm down?
Never found water worked - it's like chomping a chilli when you assume water will fix it and it makes it worse! Try some aftersun, or maybe some germolene might help a bit?
Sleep on it it'll stop by the morning and be glad you didn't used to play rugby with us - deep heat would get passed around the changing room pre game, slapped on just about everywhere then we'd all wait and see who went to the bog having forgotten to wash their hands.. 😳

Try natural yoghurt or neat shower gel.
When I was aboit 16 i thought i would find out what happened if you slapped deep heat on my balls.
Thats the kind of experiment you only try once.
