I am after some decent pedals for my son (10 yrs), the standard plastic pedals supplied are utter bobbins and want some proper pedals, V8's are a bit too large for him. Can anyone please recommend something along the lines of V8's but smaller.
SDG slater; they are brilliant for my seven year old and allow her to do some very rough / steep stuff without worrying about her feet slipping. 🙂
Chromag do small pedals. Probably expensive, though.
Answer do some great flat pedals. Look for BMX race parts for kids stuff that works great on a mtb.
DMR V6 on both my kids bikes. Youngest is 9 and she finds them fine. All plastic platforms and pins so kinder to shins.
My two (eldest is 11) are using some plastic Race Face flats. Both are fine on them.
I bought some early rider pedals for my daughter not long ago, not had much use yet but they do look very nice

Another fan of the Wellgo here. Both kids bikes have them. Usually find them on eBay reasonably cheap.

We have been using V12's from UK size 1 up... (possibly size 13 kids).

The KC001's are great starter pedals but we recently upgraded my wee man (8 years old) to the Cro Mag Radars and it's a huge step up if they're riding proper stuff.
Next size up will be a set of Small/Med XT's that I have in storage ready.
V8 here for when little chap was 8yrs old. He was happy.

As above, our 7yr old is on KC008s as they had the smallest platform, KC001's are a bit bigger, we got ours off Aliexpress. Metal pins have have never been an issue.
