Hi guys I need some recommendations for a decent bike shop in east London. I undertake nearly all my maintenance myself on my road and mountain bikes but need to have a new thread put in my road bike cranks. So I need a good reliable bike shop to do the work. I live in east London, any recommendations?? Be good to have a back up too for when my mountain bike needs more than just home DIY.
And no don't anyone dare say Evans, or a stupid fixie shop!!

where exactly are you? you may need to travel a little, but Brixton Cycles seem to have a good rep..

That's not really standard bike shop stuff, you presumably mean pedal threads? May have more luck with an engineering place.

I live near Stratford.yep it is the pedal thread, a decent bike shop should have a good workshop and able to do the job.

That depends how much you've buggered it. Even with a tap you can't work miracles in an aluminium crank!

Condor is a good shout.

Yep, as above, I'd talk to the following;
Condor
London Fields
CycleSurgery Holborn (Karl, their lead spanner wrangler, is one of the best, IMHO)

Had experience with Condor, Mosquito and all good with them. Also Cycle Surgery in Spitalfields and strype street are good, use both shops quite a bit and nice bunch of guys and the mechanic is spitalfields store has never let me down.

Too far from Stratford!
Cycle Asylum used to be in Manor Park. Think they may not be there.
Some closer:

Perlie rides in hackney (Just north of victoria park) only a couple of stops away on the overground. For the love of god dont go to London FIelds Cycles although it is right next to the station, theyre sucha bunch of plonkers!

Good guy and knows alot about MTB's aswell. Also specialises in wheelbuilding which has come in very handy ๐Ÿ™‚

If you're prepared to pop though the Woolwich tunnel or hop on the Ferry Harry Perry cycles is very good. Paul the owner is a proper friendly club man and know his stuff.
