After 3 pairs of Aliums, 2 Atacs & 2 Z-Controls, this is the first time I've properly broken a Time pedal beyond repair.
The first Aliums gave an axle to the first Z-Controls, but I don't know if I can replace a spring.
Well aren't they buggered!
yes you can replace a spring
I believe you can.
IR Bandito?
It's probably..............Time(!!) you bought some new ones!!!!
๐ ๐ ๐ You see what I did there.......
IGMC.
You can indeed. I've smashed one or two, always keep spare pedals to use the spare parts.
Hmm, might borrow a punch from work and sacrifice another Alium.
I had issues with my Z-control's. The rod that holds the springs in kept working loose to the point it disengaged on one side so the spring lost its tension.
If you start replacing springs, I bet this will lead to the rods loosening.
I'd planned on using the good loctite.
Spot weld as an option ... ?
I've just bought 2 pairs of xc4's having used egg beaters for over 10 years. I snapped a spring on one pair after less than 100 miles. Sending it back to Merlin so let's hope the next pair last a bit longer!
That's a bit unlucky. My first Z-Controls outlasted 3 bikes in 10 years.
