Hi

I need to get a light pronto and I've been looking at the ones on deal extreme. I'm not sure what to go for. There are 900 lumen ones and 1200 lumen ones which seem to have a different pattern of spread but are around the same price. It will probably be a single light worn on my helmet. Has anyone had experience of these and can you recommend some? I would go for the 900 lumen one if it had a better beam for helmet positioning. I think there are others like these ones too. Thanks.

Oh darn. Is that even with their new UK warehouse open? I heard they got one built to speed things up for UK customers.

Any advice on the lights appreciated though.

I ordered the T6 one last week for using as a helmet light, it's now showing as 'ready for dispatch' (from HK), after reading the other thread I'll be lucky if it arrives in September... Fortunately I already have a P7 so aren't light-less. You might find a UK plug version on eBay, but you'll pay a lot more (I was in the same situation last year when I got the P7, fortunately I'd just sold a vastly inferior original Cateye Tripleshot to some chump on eBay for over £100 so didn't mind paying extra to get a replacement quickly)

My advice - If you're going to order from DX, do it quickly... those T6 lights for <£29 are going to be very popular (just look how many threads there are in STW about them).

I'll keep you posted as i ordered another 900 lumen magicshine light for my helmet to go with the one on my bars. Ordered with the sku for uk despatch so hoping it may be quicker.

I have no first hand experience, but Magicshine lights on Ebay seem to be an equal quality, but turned round really prompt

Sorry to hijack, but what are you chaps using to mount your lights to your helmet? Searching for 'helmet mount' on Deal Extreme just brings up bar mounts....

Luckily for me the vents on my Xen are perfectly placed to just use the o'ring bar mount with a bit of foam underneath it. I've seen strap versions online somewhere that require the removal of the peak.

They do ship from the UK, more expensive though, £52 is still a decent price though and cheaper than some of the e bay ones.

How about smudges one for £67. That's what I'm going for.

As Mosey MTB says.

In Stock and ready to go, PRONTO

UK based supply, top Customer service and the battery isn't going to wig-out at the first sign of moisture.

Also, uses the current LED of favour, the Cree XM-L.

If you've got to have a budget light, you could do a lot worse and wait a lot longer for it.

Ordered my magicshine 900 lumen light from DX on Monday using the uk warehouse sku and it arrived this morning, pretty happy with that, battery seems a lot better protected than my last one from about 18 months ago.

Would you use a tighter focused head torch in addition to this?
