I was looking to park up on the west of Dartmoor, spend half a day cycling, on or off road, to an interesting spot, camp, then head back the next day. Anyone have any suggestions?

not done it myself, but a mate thoroughly recommends the woods around Fernworthy reservoir behind the Warren House Inn for an overnight bivi.. not a very 'moorish' destination for a camp but good and sheltered at this time of year

Not too sure if they post up on here that often anymore but if either Slugwash or Shinythings have addresses in their profiles drop them a mail. They bivi out on the moor a lot.

I camped at a place called "Luckey Tor" before, it was lush, in the woods next to a river about half way up Dartmoor. Look it up on the map, really nice place to spend the night.
