I have a pair of Campagnolo Vento wheels dating back 10 years or more, with a deep aero section alloy rims. I'm not overly enthused about the pink and purple colour scheme on the rims, which I wish to strip/polish out.
Anybody got any suggestions of how to remove the decals, Autosol? polishing disk in a drill?
Cheers
If it's anodised then a dilute caustic colution will strip it VERY quickly. Don't dunk it through as it'll dissolve the alumninium in no time, wipe/polish with a wet (with caustic) cloth untill it's gone then rinse with lots of cold water.
If it's painted then nitromors and wire wool may shift it.
If it's powdercoated then don't bother.
Where can I buy caustic solution?
hardware shops, get some tough rubber gloves too, it'll be with the drain cleaners or paint strippers.
Nice one, thanks
