Throughout the summer I've been riding my road bike once a week from Leeds (where I work) to Manchester (where I live). I want to keep doing this, but I aren't really that comfortable riding on road over the moors in the dark. This means that all my existing routes (New Hey Road/A62 from Marsden/A58 to Littleborough) aren't really doable.
Anyone know a way of doing it through reasonably built up areas, without it going over 50 miles or being a bit too stop start? Also I'd like to avoid Halifax (because it takes ages to get through and the roads are terrible - no offence to fax residents!)
