I'm heading down to Sandyhills for a week with the family and I fancy getting a couple of rides in. I'll probably do the red trail but I do fancy riding some other trails.I can see a few off piste trails on trailforks and I was just wondering if they are any good? Has anyone on here ridden them? Any recommendations for 1.5-2 hr loop?
Not done any of the new Enduro trails, something I must do. If you are on FB there are a few locals on there.
From Sandyhills there is a coastal path along the shore to Kipford, not technical in any way but a good ride. From Kipford head out onto the main road, turn left and just before Barnbarroch there is a track leading into the forest on your right(think there is a brown walking signpost)and pick up the trail by going through a gate, go left uphill and the trail is on your right. You can download the trail maps from the 7Stanes site.
Mabie is only 1/2hr away, Ae about an hour. Tues night ride at Ae, 6.30 for 7 with a meal post ride.
If I have a look at Trailforks I could probably work out where all the trails start/finish, probably around the Moyle area. Some in the wee forest near Kipford and Troston near New Abbey/Mabie
