Does anyone have any advice of the best way to hire a proper road bike and get some miles in during a family holiday, at a non-cycling resort?
I don't really want to cart my own bike across, so my ideal would be to hire a road bike and have it delivered to the hotel, for me to ride out of and explore as and when I needed.
I may have answered my own questions - Bike Menorca for a week, €100 plus €20 delivered to our hotel.
Depending on where you're staying, you might be better off with MTB.
The road network is basically a main road spine with branches off to resorts and towns, but limited options for circular routes.
There is a coastal path you can ride MTB on though. Antony DeH did a piece about it for ST, issue 113.
The off road on the south of the island is fantastic.
As above.. a MTB might be a better bet dependant on where you're staying - it's not like Mallorca.
Ok cool - we'll be SW a little up from Mahon. In fact, there is a cycle hire place in the town next door but I'd discounted it as it was MTB only.
