Hi All,
Recently moved to Tarporley nr Chester, and I'm looking to find local clubs or groups of MTBers to get myself out on the bike again. What with the move and a new addition to the family this year, time on the bike has been non-existent, so at first am looking to get fit again, so a broad spectrum club would likely be best :-).
Any info would be greatly appreciated, as would the lowdonw on the LBS' that are worth knowing about too.

Forum is not as active as it was but there are still a good few rides organised.
As for bike shops. 69 cycles in Chester get my vote as friendly and knowledgeable.

Tim @Sideways at Alsager is a top bloke, and runs a great little shop.
Royles in Wilmslow are also very, very good.
Weirdly, depsite all the bravado, Dave Hinde in Northwich, if you call into the shop has been spot on IMHO...
Cycle Centre in Congleton are spot on.
I'm in Delamere,
There's regular night rides on Monday and Wednesday, the latter being run by [url=www.twelve50bikes.com]Twelve 50 Bikes[/url] in Frodsham, great guys and a great shop.
I can agree with Mr 'sugars about Dave Hinde, pop in and they're fine.
Chester MTB still do regular rides too.
Delamere is not too far away from you and there's a fair bit of hidden / local knowledge type riding that'll keep you going for a good couple of hours with ease.
The Wednesday night delamere mob are a good bunch. Just search 'delamere' on here.
Edit..apart from that Steve b77 fella...he's a rum lad ;0p

Tracs, the bike shop at Delamere Forest run a Thursday night ride, leaving the shop at 18:30.
