If I used Stans 29'er XC rim strips on normal 17-19mm wide rims with proper tubeless tyres like the Vittoria Cross XG ones would it work or would they just burp their life away?
Has worked for me so far on a shimano road wheel on my CX bike though I had to trim the rim strip as it was a little wide for the rim. Vittoria TNT tyre went straight up nd has held air really well - no burps yet although I've been running fairly high psi (50) as I mainly ride towpaths and odd rocky section rather than race.
Are these http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mobile/vittoria-cross-xg-pro-cyclocross-bike-tyre/rp-prod105629;jsessionid=83A1E54ADD3B457150F1E4CEB3A9B3E4.crc-app-04-p-app3 tubeless ones?
Nope - the ones with a tubeless ready bead are the TNT ones. I recall them only being available in 32 mm width.
Found them on eBay, might get a set
I tried and failed. Stuffed the new rim strips away in the shed in disgust. It appears the issue may have been my tyres - Kenda SB8. They are very baggy so I promised myself I'd get different tyres.
So far all I have done is convert my CX bike into a winter roadie. Losing the plot here methinks!
