[Closed] Cwmcarn trails back up and fully open?
Hi all,
Just wondered if Cwmcarn trails are all good? Used to enjoy riding there but then they shut the Twirch trail and haven't been back since. Are all the trails up and running including the DH tracks without any diversions or any radical changes? Would appreciate any input as i fancy visiting the place again soon.
Many thanks.
I went a couple of weeks ago and it was all open. Apart from the lack of trees there now it was as superb as it always has been.
Yes. I went around a month ago, I expected a moonscape after the felling horror stories, but it's fine, the trails have coped well. Great centre, have fun.
Great news! Thanks for the replies.
All open at the moment. Suspect they'll have to fell the Cafel side soon though which will be a shame.
Yeah I've heard the Cafal side is for the chop next, pretty much the last trail centre trail in South Wales now - I'll actually tell my kids "all this was trees when I was a lad".
I hear they're planting native trees to replace the fast-growing Larch, so it could be decades before they're grown back.
Might be worth double checking if the Y Mynydd DH is open, it seems to be shut randomly at the moment according to the info board in the car park. Have seen the bus running on weekends.
It was shut on Tuesday, others open.
The uplift service was running this weekend, so I would guess Y Mynydd is open.
Cafall and Twyrch running well.
