What do you reckon? Seems like its going to be dry through till then and getting ever colder?

It'll still be frozen solid up there, I reckon. I was up in't hills last night and the ground is firm, frozen and fast. Forecast is to get even colder. I'd be more concerned about sheet ice than mud!

Sounds like a winner! Wasnt too sure as its been thawing a good bit in Saddleworth and cut gate is great when frozen but a nightmare at the rest of the time

Looked like this last week, note rider on right with leg disappearing into snow! started off OK but soon lost its attraction

Group of us made a night ascent from Langsett in mid January with air temps of -8C during the ride and -1C in Sheffield centre all day prior. Still not cold enough to be completely firm. Awesome descent on packed snow from the top back to Langsett but the climb up was hard work, particularly the flatter bits near the top.

I predict chilly bog this weekend, rather than a frozen dream.
