Looking at this for a commuter. Looks good, well spec'd for the money. Any thoughts or alternatives. Less than a grand for bike to work. I don't like SRAM shifters either

As a commuter??

Anyway - I reckon you'll have problems finding one.

It will do other things, but yes its main use will be as a commuter. I tried a cyclocross and it wasn't for me, just didn't gel with it. So i'm thinking 29er. It should feel like a mtb, like i prefer, but roll better. The commute is mainly old railway lines.

And the dealer has it in stock ๐Ÿ˜‰

That looks good value! What size would you go for? How tall are you?

I'm 5'8ish. Sat on both 17.5 and 19". I'll run a longer stem on the 17.5". I'm used to an18" C456 and a medium Yeti and I prefer long toptubes

Its a nice bike, MPG in Dalbeattie had one a few weeks ago 17" frame, seemed a great bike for the money.

I decided to go for this instead.

Ergon GS2, they are nice but not cheap. Not sure they are worth the money, im sure you could find something similar for less.
