Doing it starting on Thurs, any heads up for the status of trails?

I think your meaning Esk Hause and Black sail pass,Both excellent descents,the only problem is Black sail is best done (imho) from Ennerdale towards Wasedale,meaning esk hause is done as a climb and Rossett Gill as a descent.
Both got affected by the weather in December and there are a few deep gullys in places,but not in a way it would spoil the ride. enjoy
