Will they fit? I've got a Trek XO 'cross frame i use as a winter bike and the seatstays are very wide (c. 130mm). SKS clipons won't fit for this reason.

Does anyone know if Crud Racer guards will fit?

(Before you tell me to get proper SKS full length ones, they won't fit either - no chainstay bridge)

I think, but can't be that sure, that they will. The width of the seat stays shouldn't matter over much because of the way they attach.

they attach to the brake bolt and to the seatstays by way of adjustable arms (they fit onto the seatstay at any point) and elastic bands (as I remember) so it shouldn't make a difference unless the reach to the seatstay is massive and the seatstays are bent downwards.

they are designed for race bikes though so the tolerances are pretty small and any great variance might mean that the guard is pulled onto the wheel.

good guards, but don't expect them to last long - mine disintegrated after two winters.

You can use proper sks mudguards, I have no chainstay bridge, I use a zipties with no issues, well put a little block between mudguard and frame so that the cables don't get trapped. Works suprisingly well and means I can ride to work off road and not turn up covered in mud!

Thanks all. I have been through two sets of SKS full-length guards on this frame: i've never found a satisfactory way of attaching them at the bridge (tried zipties and fashioning a bridge out of plastic) and they always end up cracked.

Cruds it is.
