I'm going to try and route the Reverb hose through the frame on my '11 Spicy tonight and at the same time trim it down a tad.
Once I've unscrewed it from the remote unit can I expect a torrent of 2.5w fluid or does this stay in the seat post and control widget reservoirs?

Should stay in the hose. I did mine the other day and managed to top up the fluid in the end of the hose with a few drops then put back together resulting in no need for a re-bleed.
