i im 100% sure its the mech hanger thats creaking - when i tigten it, it stops greaking but then after about 1hr its at it again!

so far my thoughts have led me to consider;

- more loctite on the bolts (already have some on) plus a bit where the hanger meets the frame

- a bit of grease where the hanger meets the frame, plus loc tite on the bolts

- rubber washer made from inner tube where hanger meets frame.(suggested by someone on here - but havent been rsed to do it yet)

any other ideas?

please help!!!!!

ta

Ben

Is the hanger on the inside (ie. working as the face that the hub sits against)? If so then maybe really rough up the faces with a file or something and then degrease and glue with the red threadlock.

not really sure what you mean there mate - i think it sits on the outside of the frame, its one of these;

don't put rubber in between, that looks like a totally independent drop out/d hanger, meaning it's transferring the pedalling loads to and from the frame. Most d hangars don't hold the axle but instead sit inside or outside the dropout which is permanently fixed to the frame, hence bikewhisperer's Q

I would take it off, clean it and the contact point with the frame with disc brake cleaner and a fresh rag to make sure there's no dirt or grease in there then reassemble the whole thing and torque it up

Ah.. One of them.
Most mech hangers make a sandwich out of the drive side dropout, sitting flat against the dropout that's part of the frame. Santa's little cruzers are different....
Sorry, I've got no idea on this one, apart from buying and trying another dropout. You can always keep the other as a spare.

make sure the hanger/ axle interface is clean, no bits of grit etc
a mate had this problem with an orange 5, it was down to dirty dropouts!
