Since we broke up today, it feels like a Friday to me. Got out after an early finish from school for a local spin.

No-one else riding?

Don't normally ride two days running (dodgy ankles sometimes don't like it) but got my booster tomorrow and wanted to get a bimble in in case I'm not up to it Sunday...

Snuck in a quick run on the moors after work. Bitter easterlies but epic sunset. Ride tomorrow, maybe surf Sunday.

Rode at Aboyne this morning and my word it was cold, I saw -7 degrees in the car on the drive over. The first couple of miles out of Aboyne were very painful on my hands and it wasn’t until we got into the trees and started to climb that the pain eased. Thin summer gloves don’t work well in subzero temperatures, who’d have thunk it 😳. Once my hands warmed it was really quite pleasant.

Yeah, weather station recorded minus 6c in Aboyne this morning, and plus 14c at the summit of Cairnwell!

We rode from home today, more of a training ride to get Abigale back up to speed, we are off in the camper tomorrow so should get some riding in before the weather worsens
Misty and cold but it always good to be out

Had to work today, not too bad though running registration for the shop Santa charity ride

My boss offered me a Budweiser but I declined as I said I'd be aiming for a decent beer on the ride home

Made it -Deya steady rolling man" for those interested

It was also an excuse to get the sealant around the new tyres on this

Very cold at Ballater today. I only managed to stay out for a few hours before my hands started to hurt again, to the point that I couldn’t brake properly. I don’t think they have recovered properly from yesterday’s ride at Aboyne.

Some absolutely incredible photo's in this thread.

I was able to do a rare long ride yesterday, so set I out to the muddy, murky Mendips:

@thegeneralist - cheers. I've actually just made it into my PC desktop background.

One from today. Not convinced it shows how cold it was.

And one from yesterday. I was trying to catch the rainbow colours in the ice drops on the trees.

Third vaccination yesterday. Out in the fog this morning to test my system and see if I had any hangover from the needle.

@eskay - pogies? Absolutely. I ride with thin gloves on under them - mostly for handling gates, taking hands out for photos etc. Other than that they are toasty warm.

We headed out on 'crash site' discovery tour in a quieter part of our local hills... Spitfire and a Blenheim.

Saturday's Inversion on Dumyat. Visibility was stunning - all the way beyond Ben Lomond and the Cobbler to the Argyll hills.

And Friday's mist-fest of Stirling Castle etc

My mum died in December 2108 so we sponsored a bridge in Eskdale in her memory. We took a gloriously crisp and sunny trip up on Saturday to visit (and stuff our faces in the Boot Inn)

We arrived in the Peak yesterday too late to ride.
Rode from the camper today, trails are remarkably dry for this time of year and hardly anyone about.

Full of a chesty cough and cold last week so didn't really get out for a proper ride, did manage a dicking about session at the local skatepark during my lunch break, the ramps were super sketchy in the wet though

Third day out in the Peak. Plenty of ice on the tops. Did a long loop taking in most of the Peak classic DHs. Had the trails to ourselves again.
Back home tomorrow, bikes will need a good fettle
