Without spacers cranks hit chainstays. With spacers bearings bind as axle isn't long enough.
Axle is built into cranks so can't get a longer one like you would in the days of Isis!
So what options do I have?

Are you using the correct bottom bracket? Do both arms hit?
Maybe it needs to be a CX crankset? (never had a road or CX bike so no idea)
Yeh the bb doesn't change on gpx as its the axle length that defines width.
Cx SHOULD be road setup. Both arms hit. Properly hit.

really! i have never heard of that issue before. unless as stated above, you have a narrow road chainset
It will be designed around cx specific cranks.
So nothing is wrong aside for crank choice.

I don't think it does, its called a CX chainset because of the chain rings.
do you have the correct GPX BB? I know they are different from a normal HT11 BB
no i don't think it does either...
gxp bb is correct. as i said, the bb has no bearing (excuse pun) on crank axle length...
ummm, you know that the crank doesn't cross the chainstay at the same point as the tyre clearance happens right?
23mm is indeed tiny, i reckon you'd get about a 50mm tyre in there, so lets ignore that spec sheet!
cranks are 175 or 172.5
but the chain stays will flair out to fit the tyre.
maybe the rear end is stretched out? whats the rear wheel axle width?
does it touch on both sides?

chainstays DON'T flair out to fit tyre. they are going from hub width at axle to bb width at bb in a pretty straight line.
it does indeed touch at both sides. needs about 2-3mm extra on each side...
rear axle is standard road width, not stretched or owt.
all is as normal, only the chainstays don't have that slight dink in them you used to get, or snake in like you sometimes see, and thus.... cranks hit.

is it a brand new frame? if it is i would be calling dolan and see if they have sold you a duff frame.

Sounds like an issue with the frame, AFAIK there's no separate standard for cx frames, so they "should" comply with road cranks?

You could measure the inner Q factor on your cranks and see if they are narrow cf others.
ask dolan. they may be able to sort you out with a frame swap or at least guide you towards he correct arrangement.
