Got a set, i like them but have only been using them for girly xc duties.
Going on a trip to morocco, so nice and rocky, week of riding.
Would like to lighten up the meta am, and these wheels are much lighters than what im currently running but im not sure if they will survive the abusive week?
Im a 95kg aggressive lump, and dont choose the smoothest of lines but at the same time dont huck huge drops...
So anyone WHO ACTUALLY HAS PERSONAL EXPERIENCE OF THEM have an opinion?
I do !!! Used them for 2 years including 2 Alps trips. They survived with no issues. I don't take the best lines either and I had a few hard landings on them. Ran them on a Heckler with Fox 36 and even after a few big road gaps they stayed true and straight. I also hit a car sized rock at 30mph which broke the forks, but the wheels were fine. The only issue I ever had was the bearings kept going. I would strongly advise taking spare bearings and spokes as you will not find them anywhere. Jake at 2pure should be able to sort you out. Have recently changed them to Mavic SX as the CB didn't convert to a 142 rear. Chris
Cheers, mayb i'll run them then, will give them as much abuse as possible until i go...
Are you sure on that one? i have a 142 rear end?!
I think the 142 is an option, but not convertible from one to the other.
I'm on my second set, love them. Only changed my first set because my new frame was 142x12 and I had early non changeable 135 rear hubs, I've done many DH days at stiniog , week up lifts in Spain and have been known to land like a baby elephant. The only issue I've ever had is rear spokes came a bit loose and caused a weird squeak on heavy cornering/landings. LBS re torqued them and 6 months later they are still true.
Early I.e 2008 had issues sorted under warranty and mine are the iodine 3 with the better bearings. Very please with them.
