Following the two earlier posts re flat pedals and winstanleys they appear to have some good deals on their 5050 pedals. Are the newer 5050 pedals any good? They appear to have 5 year warranty, what does this cover?

Are they worth considering or stick to the Saints/Nanos?

You'll need the warranty.
Bought mine in Aug last year. Serviced them twice between then and end of Oct when the bike they were on went into winter hibernation. First ride out on them this year last night and the threaded end on the rhs axle has sheared, so the pedal body came off. The plastic inner part of the platform was also badly damaged.
They weren't all that grippy either, even with 5.10s.
Used for mincy-jeycore lite, not thrashed.

By contrast a pair of DMR V8 on my wife's bike are now 6 years old and going strong...

IMO, the only thing the old 50:50s had going for them was that they looked nice.

The new ones look horrible.

Doesn't sound good. Reckon I'll spend my money elsewhere!
