Well, expect the unexpected!
I took a new-to-me bridleway and, my goodness, I thought Clint Eastwood was in town! It was an equine motorway. ๐ฏ
Eventually I arrived in a little wood and here are the pics I took:
This little wood was set amongst a huge area of chalk downland that contains the best collection of sarsen stones/grey wethers in the U.K. What is interesting is that the sarsen stones were covered in lichen and were so close to the snowdrops. Opposite was a dewpond.
Fortunately not many horses used this due to a somewhat wiggly track and being unable to squeeze through the closely planted trees.

Wiggly trails are good. You can see spring winding up to.... Well, spring!
It wasn't terribly good for riding! There's not many woods on the Marlborough Downs but this one will see me returning cos I spotted signs of bluebells. ๐
