haven't been for a few years - what's the current state of play with access in July / August? (know petit balcon sud shut officially)

looks like there is some new stuff in Vallorcine - can you get over there / back from Le Tour?

what would you do for a couple of big days out?

thanks

alot off stuff is strictly off limits for bikers during july & august. However if you are careful and give way to walkers you will ok unless they are english walkers!

the lift is open at valorcine form july and you can get to and from it by train from cham. if you want to get to vallorcine from le tour you can and its a good ride apart from the long uphill from the teain station to the lift!

flegere has the d/h course so thats ok all summer
brevant is ok also as is les houches (which you can to and from by train from cham) which has some excellent riding

when are you going?
we are there for a week from 12 july if you want us to show you some rides

I just got back sunday pm, id do a lot off of le tour, ie, down to trient, trelachamp, you can access the valorcine dh courses from le tour, head towards posettes then turn right at valorcine sign, down fireroad for 200yds or so and you will see the start of dh, then id go to argentiere and go to l'avancher (making sure you have enough air in your tyres and dh tubes), id prob then head up flegere lift and take a trail down to argentiere and do it again. Im going again on thurs for 4 days.
