[Closed] could this triple crank be adapted for cx racing?

could I replace the rings on this, remove the small ring and use it for cx racing 34/46? or am I an idiot ๐Ÿ˜ณ

In which case the answer is no - the smallest ring which will fit in the middle ring position on that is 38.

I think the chain line would be out, and in cross racing, the whole drivetrain gets a hammering, so the chances of a dropped chain increase...
You'd also need a front mech that would get out far enough; possibly a triple mech...

...aaaaaand it's 175 cranks, so you might find you are catching pedals depending on the course.

Just buy something proper to do the job and concentrate on the racing rather than bodged kit!

...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand the rings will be bloody expensive to replace, and you'll go through them quick in training and racing.

Get a Shimano Cross chainset instead!
