And get rid of the gob of Sugru I have there. Every time I have tried before the grommet usually gets fubarred.

Load of GT85 , warm the grommet - and then push like buggery?
The one that came with my flaremax wasn't o good fit, then i managed to lose it. When they sent me a new one, that somehow seemed to be a much easier/better fit. Just pushed in without any lube.
I poked it in in stages around its edge with a pick (being careful not to damage it). I remember it being a PITA but only insofar as it took about 10 minutes instead of being easy.
I can’t fit them at all! Whereas the folks who build the bikes at Cotic fit them in seconds. My hardtail is just running without one as I haven’t asked someone else to for one for me. It hasn’t died.

If you can't fit them, I'm going to struggle
I gave up on my RocketMAX, at best got it half in but last bit was either going to wreck it or the cable housing. So just don’t bother now.

I can't remember it being a challenge on my flaremax 🤔 pretty sure it just popped in.
1. Try asking Cotic for a replacement. I’ve had a couple of minor things posted out (tbf I have bought a lot from them and I always have a nice chat with Paul when I call).
2. Fitting the grommet isn’t that hard. You just need the right amount of brute force and ignorance (aided with small flat end screw driver). Pretty sure Paul advised me on that too... 🤪
ETA: just checked, I currently have two successfully fitted... I’ve another to fit soon, I’ll keep you up to date if you want...

I think the best way is to do it BEFORE the cable outer is in place. Grommet first, then cable. I haven't succeeded in fitting the grommet once the cable is in place - currently running without one cos I forgot and then couldn't be bothered to disassemble the working dropper

Reading the replies, it appears that there is nothing wrong with the Sugru - as it may well be staying (other that I want to move the seat post up a bit!)
