That its not possible to buy a 2013 fork:
150mm coil ( no u-turn, travel adjust)
20mm axle/ 15mm
tapered steer
With good damping units.
I know x-fusion are doing the slant but thats air, but anything else?
or is it possible to fashion one together from other parts?
Is it possible to reduce the travel on a marzocchi 55? The only one that has a coil is the RC3 though.
Rockshox sektors come in a 150mm coil, fixed travel or dual position.
Fox are all air now I think.
Sektors are your only option it seems, a little heavy and not ultimate spec, but still nice forks.
Why the preference for coil though? Air is going to be the only option is just a few years for all forks. (Other than really low end mass produced stuff).
The new pikes are coming. They are pretty close but I think they are air only.
As far as i know the rc3's cant be lowered sadly.
yes the pikes do look good but i perfer the feel of coils, i like the idea that less to go wrong and i like the plushness of them, i always find iam never happy with how any of the air forks ive had feel. might be all in my head.
dont like the fact that we are told air is better, i dont mind the extra weight that coil has either.
You can buy the "All Mountain" style forks with coil but they are like 160mm+
